Here is my report today for Reading Plus:

What went well today:	I ignored the distractions around me
What I found difficult today:	I found it difficult to get work done even though I was ignoring the distractions around me
What my goal is for next time:	My goal for next time is to complete more work

Milk Plastic

 Aim:

I want to make plastic out of milk

Method:

Equipment:

• Stove/Microwave
• Measuring Cup
• Measuring Spoon (Tsp)
• Milk (1 Cup)
• Pot or Microwavable Container
• Paper Towels
• Vinegar 

Instructions:

1. Get the equipment
2. Put the cup of milk in the pot on the stove or microwave
3. Heat the milk until steaming
4. Add 4 tsps of Vinegar into the milk
5. Stir the Milk and Vinegar with a spoon 
6. Place 4 paper towels
7. stack 4 layers of paper towel on a surface that is safe to get damp.
8. scoop out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels.
9. fold the paper towels over the curd and press down to absorb the excuses liquid.
10. colour, shape or mold the dough as you like.
11. put all your creations on a paper towel and let them dry over night.

Questions:

What is casein?

the main protein present in milk and (in coagulated form) in cheese. It is used in processed foods and in adhesives, paints, and other industrial products.


What is casein used for?

Casein is a slow-digesting dairy protein that people often take as a supplement. It releases amino acids slowly, so people often take it before bed to help with recovery and reduce muscle breakdown while they sleep. Several studies have shown it helps boost muscle growth, along with a ton of other benefits.

What my goal is for next time:	My goal for next time is to do a bit more of each

Edible Slime

 Aim:

I want to find out how to make Edible Slime.

Method:

Equipment:

• Marshmallows
• Vegetable Oil
• Icing Suger
• Bowl/Paper cup
• Microwave 

Instructions:

1. Collect your equipment
2. Put the marshmallows in your bowl
3. Place the bowl in the microwave for 10 secs
4. Pour your vegetable oil in the melted marshmallows 
5. Mix the marshmallows together and add icing sugar to make it less sticky
6. Keep mixing until it's not sticky and stretchy like slime
7. Enjoy!

Results:

The Slime felt kind of hard and wasn't very soft but it was still stretchy and tasted good.

🌈Skittle Colours🌈

 Aim:

I want to find out what happens when you put Skittles in Water.

Method:

Equipment

• Petri Dish
• Skittles 
• Warm water

Instructions

1. Get your equipment.
2. Spread out the Skittles around the edge of your Petri Dish.
3. Gently pour the warm water into the middle of the Petri Dish.
4. Observe what happens.

Results:

Discussion:

Why did the colour leave the skittles?

When the water is poured onto the skittles the sugar coating dissolves in the water.

Why did the colours not mix?

Because the most dense can't cross into the less dense of the colour leaving the skittles that doesn't mix together.

Hockey - PE

 Hi,

In pe we've been playing and learning about the sport hockey. 

Hockey is a type of sport that includes a hockey ball and stick that looks like this,

Hockey includes multiple safety enquirment's.

The hockey stick has to be below knee's for others safety that are around you. 

Here is how a Hockey stick is held. 

Make sure you wear safety gear (mouth guard, head gear, etc) that is appropriate to protect yourself from the hockey stick/ball hitting you.

A funnel is used to pour liquids into a container without a spill, in science they're used together with filters to separate a mixture.

A test tube is used for a chemical reaction

Conical Flask

A conical flask is used for mixing things

Spatula

A spatula is used to transport and distribute dry chemical compounds.

Measuring Cylinder

A measuring cylinder is used to measure the volume of liquids.

Scissor Tongs

The scissor tongs allow the users to grasp a hot crucible, flasks, evaporating dishes, or even small beakers.

Tripod

A tripod is used to support flasks and beakers.

Test Tube Tongs

Test tube holders are used for lifting, carrying or heating test tubes.

Evaporating Basin

The evaporating basin are used to evaporate excess solvents – most commonly water – to produce a concentrated solution or a solid precipitate of the dissolved substance.

Thermometer

The thermometer is used for testing the temperature of liquids.|
